Vintage Welsh Cheddar and Leek Bao Buns
Step by Step
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 pack of ready to fill bao buns
2 large leeks, trimmed, washed, and sliced julienne
180g Vintage Welsh Cheddar, cut into sticks
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1-2 red chillies, finely sliced (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
120g spiced plum chutney, warmed
RECIPE DIRECTIONS
Cook the store-bought bao buns according to the package instructions.
Meanwhile heat the oil in a pan over a medium heat.
Add the julienne leeks and cook for 5 minutes until lightly softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Put to one side.
Carefully open each steamed bao bun and spoon in the warmed chutney, red onion, leek, Cheddar sticks and top with red chillies
Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra sliced chillies and black sesame seeds for an added kick.
