The cheese board has long been a Christmas staple over the Festive Season, but nothing’s worse than the cheese drying out before serving or mismatching your carefully chosen cheeses with the wrong drinks. So, we’ve got some top tips on how to perfect your cheeseboard this Christmas.

Cheese should ideally be wrapped in waxed of greaseproof paper then place in an airtight plastic container before storing in the refrigerator.
To serve your cheese bring it out of the refrigerator at least 20 minutes before serving. When making a cheeseboard, arrange your cheeses and then cover with a clean damp cloth to prevent the cheese from drying out.
Mild and mature cheddars pair well with white wines and medium red wines work very well.
Vintage and Cavern aged cheddar work well with Welsh Ales and Ciders.
Caerphilly is ideally paired with white wine or a sweet cider.
